Possible events for October and November

Postby The Pram » Tue Sep 11, 2007 1:35 am

By popular request, I have been looking at something to do in October. The idea is not so much to have a run but to go somewhere at the end of it.
That said, can I have your opinions please on the following:-

Visit to distillery (I have emailed one already to enquire about a block booking and miniatures instead of samples)

Visit to Alford to see the museum. It just so happens there is an event there on the 7th, http://www.admc.org.uk/ and then on the 4th November http://www.caledonianmsc.com/

If a visit to the museum is all that you want then we get a group discount for 12 or more people.

Karting was also an option but I think warmer weather is better so that can be shelved until next year.

Come on now, don't be shy
Ok, I'll start then - we can have the Glenfiddich Distillery on Sunday 14th, their last weekend opening time for the year. I suggest a lunch stop in Dufftown first then head off for the 2.30 tour.
Any more takers?

I live so close to that but have never actually gone for a tour of it.

Although the last time I toured a distillery I had such a bad hangover I had to leave via the fire exit in a hurry to be ever so slightly ill

It was the guides fault when he opened something, where the mash is or something, I know nothing about how they work, but whatever it was smelt real bad

Sorry, we're away from 14th - 28th.

But we'd consider anything outside those dates.

Tax comes off the MX at the end of this month and I think I'll probably tuck it away in the garage and save some pennies for some new bits

In order to save on my jealousy I'll likely attend the pub meets with the big Mazda but unlikely to make the runs. :(
Long term MX5-less I miss my 5...

Sorry, can't make it.

I've done the Glenfiddich visit and can strongly recommend it - probably the most attractive distillery I've visited.

Just heard back that the tour is free, all we need to do is book it.

We are up for this one. I've been to quite a few distilleries over the years (all for educational purposes obviously!) but my better half has informed me she has NEVER seen round one. This must be rectified!
