North Scotland (South) - The Road to the Gathering

Postby Colin » Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:03 pm

This thread replaces the one below by Malc who has kindly offered to organise an official run for the area to take us to the Gathering... and we're happy to welcome anyone else who wants to tag along on their route up north.

Check this link for details of the bacon roll, run and Gathering spectacular!
Should be a memorable day so see you there!

Please keep this thread on-topic!
Cheers

I've planned a little detour through Glen Isla - the only Angus glen that you can actually drive through.
Glen Prosen, Glen Clova and Glen Esk are all dead ends. This will let you enjoy the whole length of Glen Shee on your return leg.

Glen Isla.

Glenisla's actually the shortest route to Glenshee from Arbroath but I'm gonna do it the other way by going over the Cairn O Mount first and then through Deeside....

It wouldn't be the shortest route if you joined us first at the Horse Shoe Café.

Important notice

Due to the low numbers wanting to join us on this run and the fact that there is a large Central Scotland run starting just up the road at the Caithness Glass factory in Perth, we have postponed this run until 2008.
Cheers

Just to be awkward - our small group of 3 cars has decided to travel separately.

We would like to retain our separate identity.

i just prefer a run over the cairn o mount...i go to glenshee/braemar a lot for hiking and biking etc and normally go through isla as it's quickest. change of scenery and all that :)
