North Scotland (East) going to 'The Gathering'

Postby IanH » Wed Aug 29, 2007 5:28 pm

Since no one has started a thread for NSE yet (that I can see), I fully intend to go and happy to do the convoy thing.

No definite route planned yet but probably something like Inverurie, Kemnay (cough), Alford, Tarland, Ballater and on to Spital of Glenshee.

Andy J, that would be good, Aboyne is probably a good meeting point.

Cheers for starting this off Ian
We will be there too and I am more than willing to go with the flow re the convoy route. Once we decide then I will email everyone on my list to let them know.
I had planned on speaking about it at the pub meet on the 10th anyway but this will get some ideas flowing in the meantime.
I only ask that we bypass that place not to be mentioned  -joke!
I reckon a good start point is needed then we can come from all directions and set off from there. Must get my maps out again :D

Bloomin heck you're doing it again... I'm away on the 10th too, all that week in fact, may make another pub meet this year perhaps!! :(

As for a good starting point I propose Morrisons Car Park in Inverurie, same as for the 'Australia' run, allows folks from all points to congregate in one place. The fact that I get to stay in my bed a bit longer has got nothing to do with it, honest 8)

I didn't plan it on purpose honest
Inverurie sounds fine as a starting point for the more local folks then we can take it from there.

I'm a definate for the gathering, count me in! 8)

I'd probably meet in Aboyne too, would be easier for me rather than out to Inverurie :)

So Aboyne at 10.45 - any ideas where it might be best? South side of the Bridge beside the Boat Inn then we can all park up safely and those coming out the SDR from Bunchree can draw up too?

Still not certain to get the day off. All depends on if anyone goes sick on the day. If they do, I wont make it.

Going to be short notice for me I'm afraid but I DO want to come if I possibly can!!

Sorry people.

It looks likely that I'm not going to make this now.

My car is at the doctors after screaming in pain yesterday. Looks like the diff and the prognosis isn't good. :(

I'm not very happy, this could get expensive.
