I'm Nigel (now you see why I hide behind "Enjay" ;) ). Son is Brandon. Wife is Pat and, for completion, daughter is Tanya.

You see, I was at school when that was in the charts. So you could say I've heard that one before. :P ;)

Well, now you're asking. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. ;)

One day whilst waiting for the school bus on a cold and frosty morning, a guy that shared the same bus stop as me (Andrew Shiels) had been watching a Bond movie the night before (Goldfinger) and for some reason decided to call me "Oddjob" after the rotund Chinese guy with the killer bowler hat from that movie (despite no obvious similarity). Anyway, I have no idea why but the name stuck for a while.

Later, "Grange Hill" came bounding on to our screens. Within the first few episodes, Tucker and friends were yelling things like "flippin' 'eck Tucker, you ain't 'alf a nutjob" at each other because they, obviously, couldn't use real playground language on the TV. Anyway, Oddjob quickly became Nutjob - possibly because, having spent a number of years in Sussex, people thought my accent was near enough a Grange Hill one. Image

Wind forward a few years and I still had the name but I was now a graduate nudging towards adulthood, respectability and career. My best mate's dad (a very successful businessman and MD of a sizable company) simply couldn't bring himself to call me "Nutjob" (despite the fact his wife and son always did) so he shortened it to NJ.

That sort of stuck for a while but the name started to fall into disuse. However, with the advent of online BBS systems in the late 80's/early '90s followed by the Internet and the apparent need for online pseudonyms, I resurrected the name but spelled as you see it now. I didn't actually realise at the time that "Enjay" is in fact a real name (people of Spanish descent are likely to have it). Nor did I realise that many Americans would associate it with "New Jersey". I do a lot of editing of 3D games, especially the old game Doom - and I guess I'm pretty well known as Enjay in that online community - having been involved in it since about 1994. In fact, do a Google Image Search for Enjay and the first pic you get is one of me that somebody put up on a Doom related site. :?

When coming on here, it was more an accident of habit than design that I signed up using the name Enjay.
