Hello every one, new owner from glasgow

Postby Andy_H » Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:48 pm

Though i would drop in and say hi, iv got got a 1990 white uk model 1.6 mx5, my brother had one brand new back in 1994 and always said one day i would have one and here we are. i have had loads of tasty cars from an E36 BMW M3, 300bhp civic type r and 96 civic Vti and loads loads more and i must say my new wee mx5 is very quick becoming one of my fav. My car needs a few things sorted out to make it the way i like my cars, (very tidy) already ditched the 17's and put one some standard 14's and all i can say is 17's ruin the handling! fitted a new stereo with ipod and a parrot phone kit, i love how simple behind the dash is, no mass of wires and loads of space to run things lol. i need an exhaust asap the prev owner has fitted a home made side exit exhaust!!! it sounds terrible! It needs a right got clean and polish to make it shine again also going to change the gear box and diff oil and replace all the belts thegear change is a bit sticky when cold and belts screetch a bit from time to time, so you will no doubt see my one here looking for advise and things and i hope to meet some you folks at some of the meets. One last thing where can i get sticks i have seen on some mx5 around the place from this site?
Cheers
Andy :D

Hi Andy,
Welcome. I'm sure you'll enjoy the car - I've had a fair range of cars in my time (including a Scooby and and MR2) and the MX-5 is by far the most fun - so much so, I've been a member of the club for over 10 years now.

On that subject, I think you need to join the MX5 Owners Club to get the stickers.

Be sure to post up some pics of your car when you get it nice and tidy.

Welcome Andy.

I'm a "born again member" although not paid my fees yet

Had a white Eunos for about 8 years, added all sorts of nonsence to it, lol, even ran the Scottish club for a wee while, but no-one came to my runs back then. Too fast for them all I guess :P

Just got a nice red Roadster to play with on Monday.

Anyway, sounds like you don't mind getting your hands dirty, so you're welcome round to mine for a cuppa any time.

Dave.

I would be careful if you bring a white 5 round here though :?

(My wife might steal it)

I'll be on my driveway most weekends now, as long as it's not peeing down.

PM me for the address.
