Hello

After writting stuff on the Spotted!! section I am under orders from " The Mailman" to Introduce myself =

Hello, I a couple of miles away from Forres and about one or two months go I bought a silver mk2.5 1.8 sport.

I haven't stopped smiling since. What awesome cars MX5's are. Easily one of the most enjoyable cars I have ever driven by miles.

The only problem with my MX5 is I now look for any excuse to go out and drive it and I now want to take the long way everywhere. Spending a million ££££'s a week on petrol. But hey I was not looking to buy a practical car.

My best experience so far has been driving around Moray at 2 am with the top down, sun just starting to rise and NOT ONE car on any road!!!

Oh, and I also been posting on the mx5ocforum too.

Hi Ben,

have you ever done the road from Carrbridge and on to Nairn ? That's superb about 5 in the morning.

I haven't tried that road. But I will :D

The road Grantown-on Spey to Nairn is great (A939, A940)

And the backroads from Inverness to Nairn (B9006, B9091) is much better than taking the busy A96.

Hi Ben and Welcome.

North Scotland East (NSE) are doing a run on 27th July;

http://www.mx5scotland.co.uk/events.php?event_id=278

You're more than welcome to join us for it or meet up on the way if you don't want to come all the way to Ellon to head back North again (some do 8) ).

We also hope to have a run originating in the Forres area organised by Angie (rostra on the forum) at some point so keep an eye on the events section too, there are regular Pub Meets throughout the area that come up from time to time.

Cheers,
Ian

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum.

As a fellow Mk2.5 1.8i Sport owner, I know exactly what you're saying. These cars are the dog's!

Although I bide in Dundee, I often drive around Speyside and Morayshire when seeing my woman - the roads and scenery are superb.

We're darned lucky living in Scotland!
Cheers

Welcome Ben!

Hi Ben,
I'm in Forres (Mannachie Grove) with a silver Mk1 (D5EMX) - if an apparently mad chick in a Mondeo keeps waving to you it's my pal Helen who keeps thinking you're me! I must point out to her the difference between your model and mine (apart from all the dosh) (and the fact you're a bloke......)

On the other hand there could be another silver Mk 1 in town ........

And don't you just hate the traffic in Moray - all those queues!
