Hi all

Postby Bennicus » Wed Jun 18, 2008 4:55 pm

Just had my first drive of an MX5 today, and I really really want one now! :) Previously had an S1 elise and then a turbo nutter 200SX but now I need to get something a bit more sane for the girlfriend to learn to drive, but still something that's fun for me, hence the MX5.

If anyone knows any good places to look for 'em in scotland I would be very grateful! I'll be keeping an eye on the sales in this forum of course, and autotrader and pistonheads, but if anyone knows any garages worth checking out that would be great. I'm hoping to get a MkI of some sort, either uk or Jap I'm not too fussed, but as standard as possible. (Don't mind an exhaust or intake or other 'mild' mods).

Anyway, I'll probably be along with a ton of pics as soon as I've got one, hope that won't take too long!

Cheers
Ben

Welcome indeed.

Was in Dundee last week, there was a plethora of MX5's, I am sure the one you want is out there somewhere.

Hey, thanks for the welcome everyone :) I'm thinking of going to see this one at the weekend: http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14916

I'm more interested in one thats reasonable mileage and good condition rather than tons of extras, any idea if I'd be able to sell the HKS suspension and replace with standard suspension from a UK MX5? I spoke to the guy on the phone and he says they're pretty firm, and since the girlfriend has to learn in this thing she might not appreciate the harshness. :)

A friend of mine is selling this one. Seems pretty good for the price.

That looks pretty nice, not sure about the mileage (yeah yeah moon-on-a-stick, I know  ) but might be worth checking out, thanks for the heads up.
