New here, long time owner

Postby Jimaroid » Mon Jul 23, 2007 7:57 pm

Hello,

As I'm new here and am in need a bit of tech help I thought I'd better introduce myself. I'm an ex owners club member, I don't know how my membership expired but it did after moving up to Scotland a couple of years ago, it's just something I never got around to sorting out. I used to live near Bath and therefore was active in the Western area.

I've had my '94 Mk1 in Mariner Blue for about seven or eight years and love it to pieces. It's beginning to creak in places and looks a little tatty, much to my anguish, but I've had a lot of fun in it and it's never let me down.

Hope to get know you all a little better but now, I'm off to seek hope with my little troubles...

Yeah, completely forgot to put my location in! I'm based in Dundee and the north coast of Fife.

The name's a long time association, no idea how so many people manage to guess my sister's name so quickly. ;)

Hi Jim

Welcome to the forum, good to have you along.

You say you're based between Dundee and North Fife. If you live in the former you come under the North Scotland (South) area, if the latter Central Scotland. You don't have to be an Owner's Club member to enjoy the forum, and there's no pressure to join, but thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm the MX-5 Owners' Club Area Co-ordinator covering Dundee, so if you want to know anything about the Club, e-mail me at the address below.
In the meantime enjoy the huge amount of information and wackiness which is the MX-5 Scotland forum and feel free to try out a couple of events.

And if you decide to join, I'll be waiting with a form ... :)
Cheers
Colin

Hello again. :) Finally got around to sorting out my membership again after that hiatus mentioned up there. Found some new love for my car this week after fitting a new exhaust. It's making a great noise now... err... if it wasn't for that £$%ing heatshield rattle. :D

Welcome back

Is the heatshild rattle from the front pipe?

If so all you need is a 75mm jubilee clip. Jack up the front n/s remove the wheel and you can get to it. Put the jubilee clip around the middle of it

Roughly that area yes, or perhaps around the cat which is a bit harder to get access to. It's one of those noises that seems to move around. :D

Hi Jim - welcome to the forum and back to the club.

My first MX5OC run was to Bath - it was the inaugural run of the West London Region back in April 1999. Beautiful city in a nice part of the country.

Good luck with fixing up your car.
