Hi, i have never owned an mx-5 before and am currently trying to purchase my first one (i have up to £3000 to spend, what should i expect :?: ) , as well as researching the car as much as possible (which is how i came across your forum)
as i live in scotland it seemed like the best place to look, however i have noticed that the majority of cars for sale seem to be  the other side of the border :!:
I have placed a wanted ad on the forum (fingers crossed) but all info would be greatly recieved.
thanks for now, hopefully my next post will be of our new car!!!!

till then

Welcome :)

3K should get you a fairly decent Mk1 if you look hard enough!

FizzIndi is a great place to start if you want to find out more about what can go wrong with the cars, and if you want to see how easy most problems are to fix.

.:- 1997 1.8iS Mk1 (BRP MP62 Supercharged) [SOLD]
.:- 2000 1.6i Mk2 Isola [SOLD]

Welcome to the forum and futre mx5-ship.

A lot of folk here have traveled very far to get their cars. If your willing to travel then good old ebay or pistonheads is a good place to look. Autotrader is the best place if you don't want to travel so far but you might have to wait a little longer to find the one you want. It's easier said than done but if you can (I couldn't  ) then take your time and find the "right" one rather than an ok-ish one.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you find, any questions and someone here will know the answer :D

I would say that prices will start to rise as the better weather comes in.

Get one soon.

Hello, welcome to the forum. :P

You could always start with the Scot Ads.

Since I bought mine (in London) there have been lots in there.

Did any one notice in the Herald last week, there were 4 in the for sale car section, ranging in price from £3K to £12K.

Thats the most I have seen. A veritable rash of MX-5's
