Doh  Must learn to read properly before I reply.

The car looks very red indeed, but nice all the same. I prefer the blue shade of red myself

no, just what i saw on the autotrader website. looks a clean car though and he usually seems to stock nice vehicles. the fact that it has a private plate would suggest it has been cherished by a previous owner. from memory it hasn't done too many miles either? just make sure the cambelt has been done at 60k in the service record. If the car is as good as it looks you will love it. Fives tend to be very reliable and yours looks as if it has been kept pretty much as standard which is another good thing although it probably wont be long before you are buying a set of lowering springs etc

it was an elderly mechanic gent who owned the car, he had it for 5 years, and only done a couple of thousand each year. The car has done 64,000 miles and had the belt changed a couple thousand miles ago, I asked the sales man how long the guy had owned it and he said he never "owned" it , he nurtured it :P

Malcolm will be doing a dance. :D
With all these red Mk1's it will make a pretty good photo shoot.
Just a question of getting everyone together. :P

Hope you will be able to come to Pub Meet too.

Hi Greg

Welcome to the forum! Good to have you on board - if this is your first 5, you've every right to be looking forward to driving it. As you'll have gathered from this Web site, owners tend to become pretty passionate about their cars.

Be warned when you find yourself starting to look at the catalogues of engine mods and bolt ons. The car will have your soul and will never let it go!

I'm the Area Coordinator for the MX5 OC for your area, so feel free to e-mail me if you've got any questions. There's no pressure to join, so enjoy the forum.
Cheers
