Newbie from Glasgow

Postby AutoBuhn » Wed Apr 26, 2017 10:16 am

Hi from Glasgow.

Last November I bought a 2002 1.8 svt sport and it is wonderful fun to drive. If you saw a light blue MX5 with a mis matched bronze hardtop during the winter it was probably mine.
It does need some bodywork on the rear quarters but I'm having no luck finding somewhere near Glasgow to have it done. Any leads would be much appreciated.

Best Wishes.

Welcome to the forum AutoBuhn.

I'm sure someone from the Glasgow area will be here to assist with a bodyshop suggestion.

If the car is a keeper you need to read this about how to protect the rear section of the sills as most people do not get the anti rust cavity wax into the correct place after the repair.

It just starts rusting again.

Thanks for the welcome and good advice.

I would like to keep the car and have rust treatment carried out. The chassis rails are solid otherwise I would not be keen to keep it due to safety issues.

I'm wondering if I should post in another section of the forums for help in finding somewhere to have the work carried out.

Best Wishes.

If you use something called Facebook, I'm told there is a central Scotland MX5 group by those who use it and posting on there may get a response.

Sorry but the number of dirt under the fingernail users on here has reduced in the past year or so.
