Newbie in Fife

Postby Zeolite » Sat Nov 12, 2016 12:53 pm

Hello
Dad just got a 2003 Nevada 1.8. It looked only slightly rusty but we all know the similarities of rust to icebergs....
It is in the garage getting de-rustified and will be out next year for runs and fun so we are looking for technical advice, parts advice and hopefully some companionship in 2017.

See you soon

Welcome to the Forum. Why not come along to the Central Scotland Planning meeting to see what next year's runs and events are for your Area. You don't have to have the 5 on the road to attend this meeting. Most people will be travelling in their 'grown up ' car anyway.

Welcome Zeolite and dad to the club. Good luck with the winter rust treatment, hope the iceberg isn't too big underwater.
Try us out at an event (no runs until next year now but social events are still on)
Where abouts in Fife are you?

Welcome Zeolite and your dad to the friendly club. Depending on your location in the Kingdom you can attend both Tayside and Central area's !!
And of course you can go on runs or trips with any region in the UK too.
Whatever you decide both of you do what all the other Mx5 owners do and enjoy your car !!

Hi and thanks for the welcome.
We live in the Glenrothes area.
Plans for the car include repairing the rusty chassis, repairing the rusty rear sills and wheelarches, rebushing the wishbones, servicing the brake callipers and replacing the brakes and touching up the paint.
Once that is done we will be looking for fun events. I hope to do some autotests and Dad wants to do some longer runs.
