Hi from Aberdeen!

Postby Dan_G » Tue Apr 16, 2013 3:39 pm

Hi there all! Im new to both this forum and mx5 ownership. After just under 2 years of having a blast with my clio 182 I got the urge for a new project/toy.

So here's my new 5 :) (apologies for poor phone pic!);

As i said i've got it as a little project so will change a bit. It already has some nice bits added like HSD coilovers. Will be having a play with the set up as it is going to be a track toy and the last owner had just had it set for very low/very hard (not very uable). Im still unsure about the banded steels but will see how I get on with them.

Its booked into a body shop to have the sills repaired as they are showing some rust and to have the rear arches cut/skins re-welded as it was sold with a wide arch kit to fit.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know the forum and hopefully get along to some runs once the car is all sorted!

Welcome to the Forum Dan,

We have a run out a week on Sunday and of course the Rally at Pitlochry in May.

Hope to see you at both events.

Apologies for late reply, been away offshore and on Holiday!

Still waiting to get the car MOT'd as I was messed around with a guy for getting the sills welded :x . Its just the sills that need welding for the MOT. Can anyone recommend a good place to get them done in Aberdeen?I have replacement sills so it's just needing cut out and re welded.

Well after being messed around it now out of MOT :( so just waiting on welding being done. That would be great! would be happy to help/do any prep work required, just don't have access/skills to do the welding.
