New to mx5 from Aberdeen :)

Postby Razzy » Tue May 29, 2012 9:52 pm

Hi,

I recently purchased a blue 1990 1.6 mk1 mx5 and didn't know anything about that car.
Drove it from somewhere near London to Aberdeen about 500miles. Has some rust on the drivers side rear wing. But nothing bad.
Haven't had a chance to mess around with the car cause there is no tax and i didnt get the green slip for it.
Has a stainless steel exhaust system fitted and a after-market air filter without heat shield :(
Car i lowered by GAZ, a bit too low for the streets of Aberdeen.
Seats look like they are from an old xr/rs/cosworth ford.

Did my rear screen last weekend, not bad for £10, will add some photos tomorrow. Changed the oil today, old oil looked so black and thick seemed like it wasn't changed for a while.

It looks like there is a lot of work to be done, but it will be money well spent. Also looking to turbo/supercharger the car.
If you have any thoughts in what should i do with the car, then please let me know :)

Also looking for a blue o/s front wing and a n/s door :)

Quick pic of my car(taken by the last owner) :)

Welcome, to another Aberdonian....

My s-limited is only on the factory bilstein lowered setup and not great on cobbles, potholes and speed bumps..... But on open road great handling.

Welcome to the Forum :) . Your car looks pretty "slamed" at the moment!
