Trusted garages in/near Glasgow

Postby nickyp » Mon Dec 12, 2005 5:58 pm

Hi

New to the MX-5OC and new to my 1996 Miata. Can anyone give me the name of someone in the Glasgow area who specialises in servicing the MX-5 that I can trust?

Cheers

Nicky

mx-5 servicing

try Bishopton garage, near Erskine, (ask for Gary). Stuart , the owner, runs a Subaru in National Rallies with some success, and they're pretty hot on forced induction and cars in general.

Gary's Black Mk1 MX-5 has to be seen to be believed; Oh, and he's a club member!

Would second Gary's garage in Bishopton, used it twice and very happy with the work.

Any idea how much they charge for a timing belt change?

Don't know where you live but there is a garage in Lenzie near Kirkintilloch called N&S Motors in Boghead Road. Its run by two guys who know a bit about Mazda's. They did a lot of work for me and were both very good and very reasonable. Some of the people here have used them before. When I asked them to do a service they couldn't take me for 8 days thats how busy they were. Any garage that busy must have a good name.

Might be worth a try call them on 0141.776.4319 if you are interested.

Thanks Ronnie. I'm west end, so Lenzie isn't too bad.

Mine's a dark blue metallic Miata. I'm in Kelvindale, car's garaged at the moment. Only bought it recently, so want to get it serviced before using it to any great extent.

I'll look out for you.

Help! Just got a three year old MX5 Euphonic and when I phoned the chap who had done the service he said that the timing belt has not been changed and it is almost 60,000 miles. Any good garages in Glasgow/Paisley that won't rip off a woman...

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a garage in Glasgow who have Mazda experience but will be fairly low cost and trustworthy - ideally a "wee man" type private affair :) I live at the edge of Castlemilk/Fernhill/Rutherglen but work in Hillington, so either near these locations or somewhere that has good things for me to look at while I wait for the car to be done.

I think I need a full service and my MOT is due to be done this month (I believe oil change is up, but I think my ball joints are clicking too and I'd like the engine to have a general lookover, and if any parts are required they won't be too much, like they would be at a Mazda branded garage)

Thanks!
Colin M
