Knockhill Track Night 2007

.... for those that enjoy 'tracking' their car.

No problem Douglas, I thought this may be the case but I thought I'd suggest it on the off chance that the reserves may not make it.

Of course it is, where would our track nights be without our longest running spectator
Look forward to seeing you Bryan.

He's getting dragged to a run as well !!!!!
Will also be trying to make it to watch - but it may be difficult to make it on time

Anybody got an idea how long it would take me to get there from Carluke?

It shouldn't be much more than an hour but I would give it a little extra for the rush hour traffic. I use to do Rosyth from wishaw in about 50 mins but that was in the morning with most of the traffic heading the other way.

bumped into another 5 owner in Arbroath today and told him about the Knockers night. He's keen to be added to the reserve list in case anyone drops out

Hi all,

as I've not yet managed to get to any other event yet I thought I would pop along to watch. Having read the event info I assume that it starts at Knockhill at 6pm? Stupid question I'm sure...

How early can we arrive? I ask as I'll probably head straight from work.

You can arrive as early as you like, last year we got there about 3.30 and had a fun time watching another club doing their stuff. It was highly entertaining, what with the usual Elises spinning off at the hairpin followed by a Subaru rather spectacularly going up in flames right in front of where we were sitting.

My view of the fire was enhanced by a certain club member rushing down to the blaze to get better photos. Maybe he'll post them for us later.

Yeah, that's one of my shots, when the fire kind of was out. Shaun took better ones when the car was actually burning and I was running back to the car to get my camera :D

That's the shot Shaun, you were a lot quicker than I was at getting it.

Dunno what caused the fire, looks like an oil fire, so I guess some kind of oil leak onto the turbo. The car was track prepared and came and went on a trailer if I remember.

That club were quite "entertaining" to watch, apart from the burning Scooby, there were Elises spinning and breaking in several places and a Focus getting stuffed into the barriers at Duffus.

Yes please Andy and Douglas - if this guy is interested there's a ticket available, as Ivor is definitely not going to have his car ready.

Face value is £55, but we're open to offers.

Oooohhhh !!! Wet track

As Findlay says, nice smooth, fluid driving Kev. :D

Must admit that all the times I've been on track I've always managed to land lucky and have it dry - I think I'd be pretty nervous for the first hour or so on wet tarmac

Might be fun though!

Lets hope that it's nice and dry next Friday ....
