Racing at Knockhill? - piece of cake!!

Postby Stella & Nige » Sun Apr 09, 2006 8:01 pm

Nige had his 'day out' at Knockhill last weekend. Had a shot in the Legends - thoroughly enjoyed himself, so much so he had extra laps!!

Wants to go again, but sorry, couldn't let him go in the '5'! :( What a spoilsport I am I know, but hey, I just couldn't bear to see him fling the '5' round the same way as he tanked it in the Legend!

Great fun though, even for the spectators!

Still can't figure out how to add pics!

Stella

I'm sure that Nigel would be extra careful with the 5 as I know he just loves it to bits - and after all the little car is just built for the track - go on you know it makes sense

see you on the twisties Nigel

After spending all that time at Automotive Services getting trick suspension/bracing it'd be a waste not to take that car on track!!

I'd say a track day at Knockers with the OC is probably safer than a blast down the B roads ;)

Listen you lot, if you all chip in with the cost of NEW TYRES, DISCS ETC, I'd be happy to let the old chap fly round, but I don't have the pennies, and he CERTAINLY doesn't!

AND the owner of Automotive Services didn't recommend it either, so I shall take advice from the specialists!!!

Told you I was a spoilsport!

New Tyres, Discs etc

Never gone through those, and mine did 3 tracldays last year

If you look at it that way best not use the car, after all it may wear things out :D
Just park it in the lounge and admire it (careful it doesn't rust
though

I agree with Richard.
Get out there and enjoy the car.
Caroline had 5 laps and was glad she did as she was a little apprehensive.
I've had 3 sessions round Knockhill and didn't need any new brakes or tyres.
Go on Stella give it a go!(and Nigel of course)

From what I've heard, Jiob/Yob ( ? ) is pretty good at "testing" cars on the back roads so I'm suprised he advised against taking a car on to Knockhill

What do we know though. ;)

You don't have to go ballistic, it's enough to be a little
2 hours on the track was well worth a weeks use of brakes and tyres.
Set me up all year, and it's soon to come again :P :P :P
Did you you not read Debbie Greenwood's article in STHT, feel the excitement in her writing, you've gotta have some that

A 2-hour session at Knokers is hardly going to warm up your tyres never mind cause any serious wear and tear  Especially if it rains!!!!!

I'm a specialist. Take my advice. GET ON TRACK

Okay, okay you lot, got the hint.

Tell you what, if you all chip in a tenner I'll let the old chap have a shot. Sorry guys, haven't got the spare cash and that's the bottom line.

Anyway, none of you (I think) have been with Nige when he's putting our five through its paces, but I can tell you this, even Nige was impressed when Yob gave it a spin over the Knockhill road! Yob, of course, was just testing the suspension!!

We'll still come and watch you lot going round.
