An old friend

I meant to come here and post this ages ago.

I was at the Crathes car show (May 2016) and I spotted an old friend on display:

Nice to see them again especially if they are being looked after.

Yup, it was good to have a chat about what had been happening since I gave up ownership. Appearance-wise nothing much had changed but the new owner had done quite a bit of mechanical work by the sound of it.

I've been admiring your new wheels from a distance when I drive past too. Very nice.

I've also been sorely tempted to get back into a Mk1 MX5 myself. However, one reason for moving on from my 5 last time was that I find myself feeling slightly cramped in them (I'm nearly 6'2"). Even though I loved my Mk1 and drove it for a good few years, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to that. The call of popup lights is strong though.

I've been tempted by the dark-side for the last few years:

Sorry for posting such unacceptable images here. ;)

It's been a bit of a project and still needs quite a bit of work but I've enjoyed it.

We welcome all sorts here :D

The MR2 was a contender when I first started looking at 5's as well as the MGF, I think I made the correct decision then though probably wouldn't have regretted an MR2. The MGF I tried had the wheels on the wrong end which didn't help the test drive experience or the feeling that it had been looked after....

Long time Enjay!

Um..Ian? Which end do you prefer your wheels on?
You are entitled to four ya know!
There is always an imbecile you never bargained for. Usually in a Tescon carpark with a dented Zafira minus hubcaps

The MG TF(?) had slightly bigger wheels/tyres at the back, well it should have...
