Douglas,
What's the deal with passengers? My wife - whose helmet is better than mine :-( wants to get some passenger rides in (I think she's particularly keen on David's Caterham!)
Is there an extra charge?

Thanks,

At club events it's only the drivers that pay. Any passengers will have to sign a disclaimer with Knockhill (free) and have a helmet. Knockhill have helmets that you can hire.

Guys,
I was down in Engerland yesterday and I met up with Lazza who gave me a ride in his supercharged beast.
Time to be afraid, I think. It is a seriously well sorted machine that would outpace most 'performance' cars costing 3 or 4 times more money. Although not the fastest MX-5 I've ever been in it is pretty close. And he's only running 8 psi at the moment!
If the speed at which it appears in your rear-view mirror doesn't scare you then the whining noise of the 'charger will - it could be heard half a mile a way - literally
Fortunately, he's only done 1 or 2 trackdays before so I might still be able to keep up with him - and he'll be really tired after about 2,000 miles of driving the week before...........

I'm sure any MX-5 modders who don't want to take their cars on track should come along anyway just to see this car! (pressure's on now Laz! 8) )

Hey everyone,

hoping to make it up to this for some spectating 8)

Will be cool to see so many different cars with different power mods in one place, and getting to compare them to other 'similar' cars...

See you all there!

Just to say I got a 1 hour track session with an instructor at Knockhill for my birthday (mid life crisis - where ?) and I did it last night.

Just sooooooo much fun its not true!

If anyone (like me) is scared of hurting their pride and joy but would like to do a track day this would be a great introduction. It sounds quite expensive at ?90 but it is well, well, well worth it.

Can't wait til the night in May now ! Just makes me wish I'd tracked the 5 when i had it (although Phil is probably happy i didn't  )

Full report from my-good-self and another VX'er on the vx site

Nah Dave - you need to go on your own cos I can't keep up with your car

I've still wanted a s'charger since the day you said "hello" to me on the EK Expressway many moons ago....

(for hello, read a demonstration of how fast a well sorted '5 can accelerate from 40 to 70mph  )

Are you going on track?

Would love to go on track, but have a couple of things stopping me:

1 - Money

2 - Going to Rotorstock the next morning and would like to make sure the car is prepared.

But you never know, If I have a good month I might still make it, if there's any spaces left of course.

I'll be heading through from the West (after my last day at work :D)

What time were you thinking of leaving? I want to get there by 5.30pm at the latest.

Not sure how long it will take at that time of day, but I'd be keen to get there as early as possible as well. Anyone else got a good idea of when the Glasgow convoy would need to leave?

Takes just about an hour from Cumbernauld area (40 miles), so looking to leave there about 4.20pm ish.

How about meeting at Royston Asda just off the M80 for a 4.15 departure?

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=g66&ll=55.890961,-4.186417&spn=0.016571,0.027250&hl=en

Just off r/b at centre of map where Robroyston Rd meets Saughs Road
