Please take the time to vote on the above, I know there's lots of people that would like to try a track event, I feel that some members, myself included, would be more confident if we could arrange a few hours track tuition and practice laps before the actual event.
What do you think. :!:

Yes .... definately!!

Worth considering having the tuition a month or so in advance so that all the expense isn't for one day (i.e. tuition in the morning, track session in the afternoon).

Also, I don't personally see the need for practice laps (tuition is far better) as at the end of the day, any track day you do organise is a practise session as there will be no racing allowed. Even after only 4 or 5 laps (i.e. less than 8 minutes at Knockhill), you'll be suprised at how comfortable you can get with a track.

Nice one Douglas!

This is a great idea, I have been keen since 2003 annual rally seeing the cars at knock hill then and I know a couple of other 5 owners would be interested too. Hope this plan comes together.

I'm up for this :D I've never done a track day before but have always wanted to do it, so some tuition would be good before the event.

I am very interested, obviously depending on cost and availability. Defo need tuition and practice though as I have never been to anything like this and don't know the first thing about it.

I voted no for myself personally due to lack of interest at the moment of the whole car  ,but i do think it's a good proposition for the club and should be an option for more enthuesiastic members :D ...so yes for the club,no for myself :)

Have a few more details I can now post... more than likely this event will be on a Friday night, early to mid May, (will tie up the loose ends at the Planning meeting) times are 6pm-8pm. Cost will be ?46.00 per car, based on a maximum of 30 cars. I would really like to see 30 MX-5's on the track but realistically that might not be possible, therefore I would invite cars from other clubs such as SS-R to get the numbers up to the max.

We have about 15 names so far, from both the poll and after speaking to other members, but there may be others that voted yes and did not leave any comments or names, if so could you pm or mail me.

Lets make it a good one.

The Track School is also booked see other post.

If you cant get all MX5's can I be considered? Would be good to help make up numbers and go on track with similar cars/sensible drivers. :)

I voted Yes :D

For those worried about insurance.

If you are on the club scheme they will cover you with an excess of ?1000 for ?20 (may be ?25 this year) If you have done a previous trackday. If you haven't the training session count as one

Some of my old MX5 driving mates from West London are coming up that week for our annual Scottish bash - I'll ask if any of them are interested. It would be a nice way to round off the week!
